We held our first Sisters Training in Tarlac. This was for all the sister missionaries int eh mission - 42 young sister missionaries and 6 senior sisters (that include Sister Martino).
The theme for the training was 3 Nephi 20:40, "And then shall they say: How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings unto them, that publisheth peace . . . . "
We had talks on Safety - to go over how to be safe while on your mission including food safety; Friendly or Flirting - to help the sisters realize that sometimes being a friend can be interrupted as being flirting; Female Health Issues - teaching how to avoid diseases such as kidney infections; A special project where each sister of the companionship traced her feet and then each of them used one of the copied feet to add to theirs to make a pair - that it takes working together to accomplish the work they have each been sent here to do.
We had lunch and then Sister Martino talked about how we just need to like ourselves and not compare yourself to others. It was great. She had some of the sisters share what was special about them and why. The president took time and had an open forum where the sisters could ask him anything. We then had a testimony meeting. It was wonderful to listen to these sweet sisters as they shared their testimony of our Savior.
What a great group of women and a great day!
